trade compliance solution within sap ehs

Hello GTS/EHS experts ,

what are the different ways of maintaining trade compliance solution within specification ? in short to use some of the features of GTS and let MM/SD block or release order depending upon some lincence and other requirements for import / export ?

Dear Krishna

SAP GTS is a solution which is used for special purposes. Not all SAP customer (in chemical industry) use SAP GTS.

SAP EHS Management on the other hand (EHS classic and EHSM) has a long history. Here now two different objects come in place "the specification" and the "chemical object".

EHS classis is dedicated to processes as:

MSDS/SDS generation

Label Generation/Label Handling

DG management

etc.

The use of EHS Waste is limited: same for EHS IH and clearly on very low level SAP EHS OH

First we need a "good" definition of the term "trade compliance solution"; to make is "simple"

You can maintain, if you would like,"trade related" data as well in SAP EHS. And if needed you can use "Notification check" to integrate in SAP MM/SD processes (blocking of process)

Therefore: based in infrastracture / IT strategy etc. either SAP EHS is used alone or in combination with SAP GTS..

In most cases: if SAP GTS is used thet then "trade complaince" part is as well handled in SPA GTs and not EHS

To understand this you need to understand the "main" differences. E.g. in SAP EHS you can not maintain/handle etc. easily Customs topics; here SAP GTS is the solution

Therefore: there is no easy answer to your topic possible and if you ask SAP customers: you will fand many kind of scenarios to use SAP EHS and SAP GTS "together"
