Hi all,
Getting error "Could not open connection to the host, on port 5xx08" when trying to connect to Telnet Administration Command
Thanks in advance.
Hello,
The easiest to use the SAP MMC tool because you can check if the port (5xx08) is open and active on the host. By right clicking on the AS Java proces table -> icm node, you can select the AS Java telnet option.
If this does not work the problem must be network related.
Best Regards,
Peter

Hi Klaas,
You can set the log location via telnet, but there are other ways as well. Please check this guide for details:
Monitoring and Displaying Log Files - Monitoring - SAP Library
The information will be logged in the defaultTrace, not in the Developer Trace of SAP MMC.
