suppressing QAAS error messages

Hi all,

Is there a way to hide the error messages received by query as web service connection?

We are on 4.1 SP4 patch2 and our dashboard contains multiple web services. The problem is that randomly the dashboard throws Cannot build the query or generate the report. WIS 30351 error but the data is getting to the dashboard correctly.

Is there a way to map the message received to an excel cell? in the output fields of the web service, I can see a message field but mapping to excel cell does not hide the pop up error.

Thanks.

Hi,

Open the QAAWS connection in dashboard designer.

Go to Usage tab. There is a field as "Insert Into"

Map this to any free cell on Excel spreadsheet and click OK.

After this, the error message should get stored in Excel rather popping up.

Hope it will help.

Hi,

Thank you for taking the time to respond.

On a query as web service connection, only the loading message can be mapped to excel cell not the error one.

Thanks

Hi,

Have you chosen QAAWS connection or Web Service connection?

The option which I am pointing to is highlighted below:

Do you get any popup to map Excel cells when you click on the mapping here from the above highlighted area?

As far as I am aware this should definitely work.

Hi,

As the section caption says, it only stores the loading message not the error.

Thanks

Hi,

Apologies for the typo.

The option which I am referring to is "Hide Error Message Windows" --> Insert into.

Please follow the below Kbase article and check if it helps.

Thanks but that option is only available for BICS connections not web service.
