Hello All,
I posted this below query in EAM/ SAP PM forum and did not received any reply and thought of sharing in this forum to know whether someone can help me.

If we search for Equipment number during the create Notification (IW21) screen from SAP NWBC (web UI), we are getting the below mentioned error. "Error: Search Connector for category EAM_TECHOBJ is not active" The customization "Activate enterprise search for input help" is active and details can be seen in attached screenshot. Also checked customizing maintenance view (table)- V_EAMS_ESH_CAT and it is fine. I need some help to understand this error if anyone faced similar situation. Please refer attachment. Vineeth
Hello Vineeth,
the error you get, means that no appropriate connector is running in your system, which belongs to search category EAM_TECHOBJ (for example BUS0010, EQUI, EAMS_EQUI, EAMS_BUS0010 or FUNCT_LOCATION_H or EQUIPMENT_H). You can check with transaction ESH_COCKPIT, if any connector is running. Find more information about the enterprise search on SAP Help Portal http://help.sap.com/nw_platform SAP NetWeaver 7.4 -> Application Help -> Function-Oriented View -> Search and Operational Analytics -> Embedded Search. Here you see the prerequisites before you can use the Enterprise Search functionality in the EAM applications.If you don't have any search connection in your system (TREX or HANA) then you need to create your own search help for technical objects, see blog http://scn.sap.com/thread/3420078.
