Hi
After upgrading to SAP BO 4.1 SP07 webi reports are refreshing on open even when parameter is set to "OFF". Even more, view latest instance report does also refresh on open.
SAP Support advised to upgrade to Patch 3 (latest pathc available ), However, same issue still occur while viewing latest instances.
Does anyone experience same behavior?
Thanks,
Luis Maestro
Hi All,
We deployed SP08 into DEV and TST server and it did NOT solve this issue. However, since then we have then applied SP08 Patch 1 to our DEV and TST systems which seems to have done the trick this time and report are refresh when 'open on refresh' is selected and isntances are not longer refreshing. Still need to apply fix into PRD.
Hope this helps,
Luis Maestro

Issue first occurred after migrating to SP7, hence SAP suggested to upgrade to the latest patch (patch 3).
The issue only affect existing reports already created prior uprading to SP07. New reports and instances are fine.
After Patch 3, report which incorrectly used to refresh on open after migrating to SP07 did not longer resfresh on open. HOWEVER, and this is quite odd, the isntances from the same report does still refreshing on open.
So issue it is half solved. We call instance from external application. So, it is critical those instances does not refresh on open as they are YTD reports with large amount of data.
Hope this helps,
Luis Maestro
Hi Luis,
As mentioned above, as per the SAP note 2155401, after applying the patch, the issue with the instances refreshing on open should get fixed.
But, since issue is still existing with the report instances even after applying the Patch3, I would suggest that you get this further checked with SAP support.
Hopefully, your issue gets fixed soon.

Monish
Hi Monish,
Incident has been escalated and still awaiting/working on a workaround.
@ Kashif, thanks for your input. We did try to genereate new instance for those reports, but still no joy.
I am currently deploying SP08 onto our DEV environment, I'll let you know how it goes.
Regards,
Luis Maestro
Hi Patel, SAP support will normally ask you to go for the latest patch 🙂
feature pack/patch are not going for full regression test so this issue might not fixed in patch 0 🙂

Hi Luis,
Just adding on to what Kuldeep mentioned.
Check out the SAP note : 2155401 - Instances of Web Intelligence report are refreshed while trying to view them from BI LaunchPad
It clearly mentions that if the below 2 settings are in place, it is CORRECT behavior that the report will refresh on open irrespective of the option selected at the document level :
1) the right "Documents - Disable automatic refresh on open" has been denied
2) Check the option 'Check the "Disable Automatic Refresh on Open for all documents" security right' under CMC->Applications->Web Intelligence
However, with this the report instance also gets refreshed, which in INCORRECT behavior and as per the above SAP note should be fixed in SAP BO 4.1 SP7 Patch 0, which happens to be the version you are on currently. Not exactly sure why SAP has asked you to get Patch 3 installed.
Hope the above helps.
Regards,
Monish

Hello Luis,
You will find all options related to Auto-refresh in here :
Login to CMC -> Applications -> Web Intelligence -> Properties
Best regards.
