Requires a new solution to replace TRM and talent search functionalities

Dear All,

Due to continuous issue in our TREX functionalities, business don’t want to continue their TD cycle in future with the same set up and they require completely a new solution.

Kindly provide your valuable suggestions.

Dear Sakthi,

if you want to use Talent Management based on SAP HCM on premise there is no way to use it without TREX and enterprise search. All talent search functionality done by the TMS (talent management specialist) is supported by the enterprises search and TREX. That means in fact if you want to use processes like talent search, talent review meeting you will need TREX.

In the past I had a customer which replaced the enterprise search by a complete customs development. They indexed all the OM and talent data which is needed for the processes to a custom ABAP Memory table every night. They created search methods to search in that memory table. The standard search UI was enhanced to use this custom development instead of the enterprise search / TREX.

This is a custom development which a huge effort and complexity. Please consider such a solution only if there is no other way. Maybe selecting a completely new solution like success factors is a better way.....
