How does my configuration connect to company code 1000 , group asset 3005 and Depreciation area 20?

Hi

While creating a group asset at AS21, I  encountered with the following error message

No depreciation area in company code xxx allows group assets.

Message no. AY160

I checked at Tcode OAYM for group asset check box . Entered the check in the checkbox on Depreciation Area (o1, 10 and 32) and when tried to save it

I am getting another error message

Company code 1000: Group asset 3005 manages dep. area 20

Message no. AC715

Diagnosis

Company code 1000: Group asset 3005 still manages depreciation area 20. For this reason, you cannot delete the group asset indicator.

System Response

The data is not saved.

Procedure

There are two options:

1. Set the indicator for managing group assets.

2. Deactivate depreciation area 20 in group asset 3005 and in all others that manage this depreciation area (

Change group asset: master data

1. ). Then you can delete the indicator for managing group assets in depreciation area 20.

How does my configuration connect to company code 1000 , group asset 3005 and Depreciation area 20?

I am totally lost here.

Hello

If your co. code and 1000 assigned to same CoD? That's the reason probably

If you have a dedicated CoD, specify Area 01  (AO21) to have Group Asset as required field. Also designate an asset class for Group Asset

As I have mentioned my company code is XXXX and it is assigned to COD XXXX.

i copied company code XXXX from source company code 1000

Company code 1000: Group asset 3005 manages dep. area 20

Hi Raj

I remember we used to Allow Group Asset in Dep Area Screen Layout in AO21 for the Tax Dep Area

And then we used to maintain an Asset Class for Group Asset

At A021, I have made group asset as an option. Thanks for your guidance.

Still I am getting the same error.

No depreciation area in company code XXXX allows group assets.

Diagnosis

You cannot create group assets in company code XXXX. There are no depreciation areas that can manage group assets in this company code.

Procedure

Make sure that you really want to create a group asset in company code XXXX

If so, then allow group assets in the desired depreciation areas.

I have these are the depreciation areas (01, 10 and 32) .

Hi Raj,

1. Have you selected the asset class for group assets in OAAX?

2. You have to select only on dep.area for group assets in OAYM?

I have already selected group asset in OAAX and

At OAYM when I tried to save, I encountered with the message saying that

Diagnosis

Solution : I checked company code 1000 at OAYM for the group assets. I  noticed at 1000, depreciation area 20 was not marked as a group asset and rest of them are. I donot know the logic behind why depreciation area 20 was not marked . I just checked the depreciation area 20  as a group asset and saved it.

Again at OAYM i checked my company code for the group asset and here I entered the tick mark on depreciation area 01 and tried to save. Got saved ...............No issues.. Problem solved

Tried to create AS21 and no more error message. Able to create Asset master.

Your Asset Class for Group Asset, does it have Dep Areas enabled in it (OAYZ)
