Hi all,
Our team is trying to copy a default IBP role (SAP_IBP_DATA_ACCESS_ALL) and create a new role that we can edit the Master Data authorization (IBP_MD) of. When we copied SAP_IBP_DATA_ACCESS_ALL to a new role with a Z_ prefix, we received a warning that the created role was incomplete because "you do not have change authorization for the assignments of user IBPBGADMIN." However, the role can be edited successfully and assigned to a user. Will this role being "incomplete" mean that it will be ineffective for our purposes? What is an incomplete role?
We ended up solving the problem. It turned out that copying one of the SAP roles over to a new role still requires some set-up afterwards, just as creating regular roles does. A profile needs to be generated for the authorizations (which can be done by going to "Change Authorization Data" for the role and clicking on the red-and-white wheel). The new role also needed to have a user comparison done for it. This can be done in the users tab. Once those steps were complete, the role's authorizations took effect as expected!
