I've opened a note with SAP and they say it a network issue but our IT group says there is no network issue....

And the user who appear in the log didn't see anything. No disconnect or error message on the client machine...

Can someone please help if you have had this issue ?

Thank you

Hi,

Q04    Connection to user 20507 (LS ), terminal 42 (LSW73110 ) lost

=> which means that the connection between SAP GUI and application server terminated.

Possible causes:

a) The frontend host was turned off or the operating system (for example, Windows) was shut down even though SAP GUIs were active.

b) Network problems (router, WAN and so on)

c) The SAP GUI process on the frontend stopped or terminated the connection without logging off from the application server.

if there is no disconnect or error message on the client machine,

you can just igonre this harmless message.

Thanks and best regards,

Shi

Thank you for the answer

We already analyze this 3 points and nothing. That not a Network issue, the front end are never stopped and the people who are connected and who appear in log haven't a error message and can continue to use SAP GUI without disconnect.

We have around 700 Q04 per day for 150 users logged in the system.

Hi,

I've gone through the dispatcher trace log.

There are two patterns for Q04 system log as below:

pattern 1:

----------------

DpRTmPrepareReq: network error of client T140_U5606, NiBufReceive (-6: NIECONN_BROKEN), dp_tm_status=DP_LOGGED_IN

DpRTmPrepareReq: client address of T140_U5606 is 172.20.4.214(172.20.4.214)

***LOG Q04=> DpRTmPrep, NiBufReceive (5606 CA 140 LSW72120) [dpTerminal.c 714]

????

DpHdlSoftCancel: delete in progress for T140_U5606_M0, ignore cancel request from DISP (reason=DP_SOFTCANCEL_NO_REASON)

----------------

pattern 2:

----------------

***LOG Q0I=> NiIRead: P=172.21.130.252:56234; L=172.20.1.13:3220: recv (10054: WSAECONNRESET: Connection reset by peer) [D:/depot/bas/742_REL/src/base/ni/nixxi.cpp 5386]

*** ERROR => NiIRead: SiRecv failed for hdl 815/sock 1612

    (SI_ECONN_BROKEN/10054; I4; ST; P=172.21.130.252:56234; L=172.20.1.13:3220) [nixxi.cpp    5386]

DpRTmPrepareReq: network error of client T119_U5779, NiBufReceive (-6: NIECONN_BROKEN), dp_tm_status=DP_LOGGED_IN

DpRTmPrepareReq: client address of T119_U5779 is 172.21.130.252(172.21.130.252)

***LOG Q04=> DpRTmPrep, NiBufReceive (5779 JPA 119 <terminal host>) [dpTerminal.c 714]

|GUI         |T119_U5779_M0   |400|JPA         |<terminal host>            |05:20:49|14 |SAPMSYST                                |high|     |                                                  |          |417

DpHdlSoftCancel: cancel request for T119_U5779_M0 received from DISP (reason=DP_SOFTCANCEL_NO_REASON)

----------------

As I mentioned before, both of the two patterns indicate network issue.

you can also reproduce this error by just killing the SAPGUI on frontend PC...

you can check 21971 sap note for more info.

21971 - Connection between SAP GUI and application server terminated

please involve your network admin to solve the network issue.

Thanks and best regards,

Shi
