Can we create a calculated column in Design Studio

Hi All,

Can we create a calculated column in Design Studio? e.g. I have a BEX Query which has key figures A,B,C and i want to perform an operation (A+B) in design studio (and not in BEX Query).

Is that possible? I could not find a way to achieve it.

Am using Design Studio 1.6.2.

Have searched through the forum and found 2 threads for the same but they are over 2 years old, so thought of asking the same question hoping the new version with new set of tools and advancements have made it possible.

Thanks for your kind reply. I've already gone through the same link posted by you Tammy, but what if I have some requirement that can't be met through it like

I have 3 columns:  A, B, C. A having Total stock, B having Actual Sales Plant 1& C having Actual Sales Plant 2.

Now I want a fourth column based on conditions that:

If Total Stock < 500

Actual Sales Plant 1 Value;

else

Actual Sales Plant 2

needs to be shown.

Can we achieve that?

The Design Studio front-end calculation functionality Tammy has pointed out is intended for simple calculations.  For more complex calculations such as your examples, the recommendation is to build these as calculated measures in the backend query.
