Host with Diagnostics Agent or Only SAP HostAgent

Hi,

My question is about improving monitoring and IT management with SAP tools (Solman...), specifically for servers related to a SAP system but without SAP applications, i.e. windows print server for SAP printers, web server, archive tool, etc.

I'm thinking in: a) SAP HostAgent + sldreg; b) SAP Diagnostics Agent. With both ways I get the hostname with O.S. information in SLD/LMDB. But I'd like to link this hostname with the Product System, and watch its status in Monitoring and Alerting Infrastructure (basically whether the host is down).

Perhaps it works with option a) plus saposcol, but maybe it's better having full DiagAgent, however without SAP product installed the DiagAgent seems useless.

Any suggestion?
