Migrate DMS repository to a new content server

Hi experts, this is my situation:

We have a Content Server 6.3 on windows 2003 server with MaxDB 7.3 and for microsoft support reasons we have a need to migrate it to windows 2008.

Now we have installed on Windows 2008 a Content Server 6.5 with MaxDB 7.9 and we want to migrate old repositories data to this new server.

Because of versions mismatch we cannot do a export/import so i'm trying to use report RSIRPIRL (sapnote 389366)

I create a new repository in oac0 and a new category in oact linked to, but when i execute the report the result is a rc=3 "Document has no content"

Executed with Document area = DMS and/or PHIO Class = DMS_PCD1

any idea? there is another way to do this migration?

Dear Jorge,

based on your description I think that the reports RSCMSEX and RSCMSIM could be useful. Please check the SAP note 445057 for this reports.

Hi Christpoh,

I already try that without success, report RSCMSEX finish with error 404 for all documents:

Hi Jorge,

thanks a bit strange because error 404 tells that the file cannot be found in the storage category.

Can you access the file when you try display the original in CV03N?

And are the files checked in at the moment?

Hi Christoph,

I was trying to check what you said but i cannot match the data from error log with a document.

For example i've looked document 453c608fbf7c1156e10000000a52b32b and I didn't find it like physical or logical document in none of the DMS tables i know.

how can i find this out?

I also read sapnote 1179063:

SAP Content Server, SAP Cache Server, SAPKPROTP and SAPHTTP are not released for the usage of files that exceed a size of 2^31 bytes. This is applicable to all platforms, file systems and database

combinations listed in the Platform Availability Matrix.

I guess this could be the reason of error 404, i need to migrate 23Gb

Hi Jorge,

thanks for the information. I guess that this value string is the PHIO-ID of the file and then you can use report DMS_KPRO_READ2 to get the related document info record data.

Just execute the report and enter

Document class

DMS_PCD1

ID for documents and relations       <paste the received ID values>

I executed report DMS_KPRO_READ2 with several documents ID from RSCMSEX error log, but i'm getting no data everytime.

Any idea? i guess this is not ok.
