SAP BOBJ Upgrade from SAP BO 4.1 SP 6 to SAP BO 4.2 SP 1

Hi All ,

While upgrading SAP BOBJ from SAP BO 4.1 SP 6 to SAP BO 4.2 SP 1 .I downloaded the patches of SAP BOBJ 4.2 SP1 and try to upgrade but its not allowing me to upgrade .Its giving message

This update is for SAP BusinessObjects BI platform 4.2 SP1, which was not found on the system .

Can you please let me know me why am i getting this message .

Hi Abhishek,

You will have to upgrade first your BIP 4.1 to BIP 4.2, for this please refer to document "Business Intelligence Platform Upgrade Guide 4.2" and upon success full upgrade of the platform to 4.2 you will be allowed to apply BIP 4.2 service packs, the latest on is SP2 as rightly downloaded. Hope this helps.

I am trying to upgrade to BIP 4.2 .Here is the software which i am downloading :-

But I am still getting error :-

which OS and what version of BOE you have currently on it ?
and are you using the same user as the original install was under ?

and Are you sure you're providing correct install directory ?

run the survey script from KBA  1681036 - see if it can identify your install.

Thanks Devis i was using wrong installtion directory BI 4.2 is upgraded .Now i will apply patches 4.2 SP2 .Thanks again for assistance !!

Hi Denis ,

Now i am getting below error while applying patches :-

./setup.sh

/sapmnt/BOP/BO4.2_2/setup.env.sh: line 110: /sapmnt/BOP/BO4.2_2/setup.engine/perl/bin/perl: cannot execute binary file

/sapmnt/BOP/BO4.2_2/setupexe -launchedFromSH

./setup.sh: line 225: /sapmnt/BOP/BO4.2_2/setupexe: cannot execute binary file

Finished, return code is 126

Can you please suggesh what can be issue .

did you give 755 permission to all files of the patch install source after extracting it ?Exit Codes With Special Meanings

At first i have not given any permission but after  getting issue i have given 777.

You have mentioned you have downloaded the Patches , have you upgraded  to BI 4.2 SP1 before applying the patches?

Please confirm you have downloaded the software from "Support Patches" or Ïnstallation & Upgrade".

You have to download the software from "Support Patches, Please check and confirm
