Material type FERT not supported for BOM item while deriving a BOM from SAP PLM - ECTR to Solidworks

Hi All,

I am able to create material masters for an assembly and all its child components from ECTR in one go with only 2 views created - Basic Data1 & 2.

We have a custom bapi developed that will extend the additional views in the background for all these materials created automatically.

Post this, when we derive the BOM, an error pops-up as Error "26500 - Material type FERT not supported for BOM item..

Can anyone help...?

Hello Arun,

did you try to create manually (CS01) a BOM with those Materials?

Maybe there is something wrong with the BOM customizing.

Hi Gerhard,

Manual creation of BOM is working fine but auto generation through ECTR is throwing some errors.

I could reproduce the error and rectify it myself...Looks like many FERT types were available in the assembly. Ensured only one FERT was available for BOM creation.

It's working fine now...
