Hi Experts,
I need clarification on Oracle SSFS for Distributed Installation.
My scenario is as follows:
1. SAP Central Instance CI on AIX 7.1 running on one host
2. Oracle 11.2 DB Instance on AIX 7.1 running on another host
AIX cluster is configured between SAP CI and DB host in such a way that when situation arises SAP CI fails over on DB and DB fails over on SAP CI.
File systems /usr/sap and /sapmnt are locally created on DB host (Not mounted from SAP CI) and they are TAR copies of SAP CI file systems /usr/sap and /sapmnt
File systems /usr/sap and /sapmnt are locally created on DB host so that BR* utilities can be executed from the DB tools (Datafile addition, BR backup, BR restore etc)
STOPSAP command when executed on SAP CI host does not stop DB on the DB host. I have to stop SAP CI on CI host and DB + Listener on DB host.
I am planning to perform EHP7 upgrade in the above scenario with SAP CI running on one host and DB running on another host.
I will configure Oracle SSFS on SAP CI host before starting the EHP7 upgrade, however considering my scenario mentioned above do you think SAP CI will communicate with DB host as expected after Oracle SSFS is implemented?
Awaiting your valuable inputs.
Best regards,
Sameer Desai.
