Data Model issue

Hello experts,

I am working on LO cockpit - Purchasing area. The users are interested in below extractors

2LIS_02_HDR

2LIS_02_ITM

2LIS_02_SCL

2LIS_02_CGR

2LIS_02_SGR

2LIS_02_SCN.

I am not using the BI Business content DSO/Cubes. All of them are custom developed. The data model I came up with is:

2LIS_02_HDR --> ZPUR_DS01 (DSO) --> ZPUR_C01 (Cube)

2LIS_02_ITM --> ZPUR_DS02 (DSO) --> ZPUR_C02 (Cube)

2LIS_02_SCL --> ZPUR_DS03 (DSO) --> ZPUR_C03 (Cube)

create a multi provider on the 3 basic cubes

2LIS_02_CGR --> ZPUR_DS04 (DSO) --> ZPUR_C04 (Cube)

2LIS_02_SGR --> ZPUR_DS04 (DSO) --> ZPUR_C05 (Cube)

2LIS_02_SCN --> ZPUR_DS04 (DSO) --> ZPUR_C06 (Cube)

create a multi provider on the 3 basic cubes.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

Thanks a lot

Padma

Hi,

In standard business content for LO extraction in BW, there are no ODSs and data is directly loaded into Cubes. I assume that the DSOs are intended to capture the data ‘as is’ from R/3, in which case have a 1:1 mapping in the update rule between the DSOs & the 2lis* InfoSources. Copy the update rules (dont forget the Start Routine) from business content model into the update rules to your Z cubes. We have done it in the past successfully, and our data model was similar to what you have proposed.

Hope this helps.
