Hello experts,
I have a doubt about the installation of SAP Netweaver on DB2, the problem is that the RDBMS has to be installed by the DBA before the SAP installation. The reason is company policies.
I would like to know if it can cause a problem during SAP installation or SWPM detects the installed RDBMS (DB2)?
Do I have to do some previous steps to sapinst?.
Thanks in advance,

Hi,
apart from what my friends here saying, i would like to add up a point that while installation of any database, it reserves port no. So, please have a look for port no overridden/collision issue. We would also like to know your OS & DB2 version
Thanks,
Kaushik

Hello,
you can set a environment variable to point SAPinst/SWPM to the existing DB2 installation. Check SAP note 1026088.
Kind regards,
Johannes

Hi.
In our experience ( on AIX ), SWPM detects the presence of the db2 installation.
I believe for SAP use, the db2 installation must be done by the root user.
