difficulty refreshing Database fields from a stored procedure in Crystal reports 10

i have a report in Crystal reports 10.

it uses a stored procedure.

i need to add an output field to the stored procedure.

this should result in a new database field showing up in the database field list.

if i try and verify the database, i get the following message.

if i say yes, it removes all the database fields in the report and from the list on the right.

if i say no, it does nothing, and the database fields remain unchanged.

if i say yes, after it removes all the database fields from the report, i can then go in and readd the exact same named stored procedure and it finds it and the new database name field is there.

Try opening CR Designer and log onto the DB first, now open the report.

Click on Database, Set Location and select the connection you have open. Now verify the database.

If that does not work download a trial version of CR 2016 and see if that will update the report. Save it and reopen it in CR 10 and refresh to see if it works.

CR 10 is end of life along time ago, no patches are available for download any more.
