Hello all,
In SAP Lumira, I have 2 files containing different information.
File A: (product sales)
- Product ID
- Product category (number)
- Sold amount ($)
- Sold month and year (text data)
File B: (group of products)
- Product category (number)
- Product group name (created thanks to different columns)
File A and File B are linked thanks to product category.
Expected result: a cross table with the sum of sold amount (File A) per group name (File B) and month/year (File A)
Current result: Unfortunatelly, the cross table doesn't show the months, just a single column with "6 elements". It doesn't divide the elements in months as wished.
I have the same issue when I try to have curves of group names (color), with sum of sold amount (Y axis) and the month/year (X axis): there is just one color with "6 elements" (i.e. fusion of each month).
Question: Is there a workaround to cross data between files?
Many thanks in advance,
Nicolas
Hi Nicolas,
What are the two data sources ? If the product category are unique values, can you try Merge instead of Linking ?
It would really helpful if you can provide a snippet of the rows and columns of the two data sets.

Thanks for your answer Varun,
Data sources are Excel files for the moment and the product categories are not always unique values.
Example:
Table A:
Product ID Name category (number) Sold amount ($) Sold month and year (text data)
ID00001 Apple Fruit 55 1.2016
ID00002 tomato Vegetable 80 1.2016
ID00003 butter milk based 102 2.2016
ID00004 cheddar cheese 103 1.2016
Table B:
category (number) group name
55 market product
80 market product
102 fresh product
103 fresh product
Hi Nicolas,
There are two workarounds available,
Even if the second data set has unique values then you can use that as a look up and merge the data sets. This would solve the issue permanently.
When performing linking, make sure you make the Table A as the main dataset and add the linked dimension into the rows to show detailed values instead of the aggregated elements.
