dear BPC Gurus
I've a DMP to import master data attributes / text from BW InfoObject. I'm using it to import G/L account master from BW Cube to BPC dimension ACCOUNT.
This is my Transformation File:
I've to put ACCTYPE as a fixed value first as AST as the G/L range cannot be used to determine if it's a AST / LEQ / INC or EXP.
User will manually change it when it gets imported into BPC.
What I want to achieve is, if, the G/L account exist in the BPC dimension, DO NOT update the ACCTYPE property.
For example. GL 123000 Telephone Expenses gets imported initially into BPC dimension ACCOUNT after running the DMP. ACCTYPE is automatically set as AST based on Transformation File.
User manually changed the ACCTYPE to EXP.
When user re-runs the DMP, I noticed that it WILL overwrite the ACCTYPE to become AST again! What I want is, if the G/L already exist, do not update the property.
How do I prevent that from happening?
Hi Edmund,
I would suggest you to download the GL Accounts from BW to a flat file/Excel file, let the user maintain Acctype in this Excel file(maintaining a MASTER file). Now upload this File with updated ACCTYPE into BPC.
You can also automate this process.

JP

May be you can use: "IF Filter Master Data" - Yes
In this case already uploaded accounts will not be reloaded...
And Routine badi is always an option

Hi Vadim
Yes, only 3 fields needed:
ID
Description
and a fixed ACCTYPE because the G/L account number is random, user will manually change the ACCTYPE themselves.
Another request:
I want all newly imported G/L accounts to go into a hierarchy called "NEW_ACCOUNTS" in PARENTH1, how do I do that too?
