Hi ,

     1. So here is what in a server special features used generally by the OS Support team, which is known as RAID Function. Now from your Server the Server Administrator(OS Support) can easily find out the raid level & then extend extra hard-disk & add the space through RAID service to that disk location. So, far this was the best solution.

     2. But as you know we are SAP experts. So we can use our solution also by systematically say for example you can move sapdata1 or its better you change the log_dir & log_arch location in other drive & free up some space. For this methods also some specific db2 methods you have to follow. A little bit process is mentioned in my below document about setting the LOG_ARCH location

Anyways rest you will get on the standard IBM Portal.

     3. Another method is you perform a Homogeneous copy job on the same system. You take Offline Backup, Generate Dump or use a backup-redirect restore whatever you feel comfortable with having the Server Drives configuration changed by raid or drive merging software like EaseUs Drive-Partitioning Software & then a new install with system-copy method using the same SID on the same server or whatever you can get from your OS Team Drive space newly allocated for like new install using Homogeneous copy.

Thanks,

Kaushik

Hello Narendran

You have entered this into the DB2 for Z/OS forum, This database does not use the sapdata directories.

You might want to repost into the DB6 Forum it is for the DB2 LUW Linux UNIX Windows version of DB2.

Andy did provide you and answer though.

Hello Narendran,

you should extend your logical volume. The procedure depends on your disk settings whether you use SAN or local disks.

I hope this helps.

Best regards,

Andy
