Hi Gurus,
We are having a strange printing issue in our newly implemented ECC environment. We are using remote printing via windows pc installed with sapsprint; device type is SWINCFT. The issue is when we are printing smartforms in our printronix line printers, the printout is getting misaligned and the fonts are getting smaller, and it detects the page height as 11 inches (actual is 12in). Whereas, if we print the same smartform via LOCAL to the same printer, it prints perfectly! We are using custom page format (9.5 x 12 in) in the smartform, the same page format dimension is also setup as default for the printer in the print server. The sapwin logs in the print server does not show any error in it.
Things we have tried so far:
- reboot print server
- reinstall printronix driver
- use epson fx series emulation
- enable skip perforation (getting disabled after receiving the spool)
Appreciate if you can provide your expert opinions or advise for a solution.
Thank you so much.
Hi Glennard.
1. Are you using the right device type for your line printer? if possible share the line printer model?
2. Page size on host spool server(Where the SAPSprint service installed server)

Hi SS,
Please find my answers below:
1. Are you using the right device type for your line printer? if possible share the line printer model?
- We are using device independent SWIN device type for LOCAL and Remote printing. The printer is Printronix P8000.
2. Page size on host spool server(Where the SAPSprint service installed server)
- Page size is 9.5 x 12 in (Letter Extra). Alignment is working fine when printing locally, whereas the issue happens when printing via print server. Please see attached samples.
Printout via Print Server: (incorrect)
Printout via LOCL: (correct)
