I would like to know the difference between two functionalities in Leads actions tab
1) Convert to account and contact -
2) Associate account and contact -
When i click on any of the functionality accounts and contacts as created in the system if those are not exist in the system.
Please let me know the differentiation with examples or possible screenshots.
Is this functionality is recently added??
Hello Abhilash
Here are the differences between both
When you use Associate to Account/ Contact
-The lead is still in the same status as when you started editing (for eg: Open)
-You can continue to work on this lead and then convert to opportunity or sales lead per example
-Conversion facet will not show that this lead was converted to account.
When you use Convert to Account/ Contact
-The lead status is converted in definitive
-You cannot continue to work with this lead; either create an opportunity or a sales lead from this account.
-Conversion facet will show that the lead was converted to account.
I hope this clarifies your request Please also do not forget to mark this answer as correct and helpful
Best Regards

I believe Convert to Account and Contact sets your Lead status to Converted and you must work in the Opportunity
Associate to Account and Contact keeps the Lead status as Open and you an work in there
