Starting the J2EE..

Hi,

We have EP7 SP11 installed on a Win2003 x86 64bit Server. After the windows server reboot the J2EE engine is not started automatically, we have to go to startup framework enter the authentication details and then the J2EE starts.

Is there anyway by which i can automatically start the J2EE engine after the windows server reboot ?

Thanks!!

Hi,

Make sure all the services related to server (like Oracle, SAP_J2E etc)are set to automatic in services.msc file. Then after reboot of machine, server starts automatically.

hi Harini,

All the services are automatic but still the J2EE engine needs to be manually started from the startup framework. Is there anyother settings required ?

Thanks!!

Hi,

I think it is not possible to make J2EE engine automatic whenever you restart your server. It will be good practice to stop and start your engine whenever you restart the server.

Hi Kiran

You need to set the value of the Autostart parameter to '1' in both the profiles START_<InstanceID>_<host> and

START_<Central instanceID>_<host>

under \usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\profile directory.

After this the J2EE Engine should start automatically when the OS boots.

Cheers.

Hi Goutam,

There is no parameter Autostart in my start profile files.

Should i add this ? and what will be the syntax ?

Thanks!!

Hi Kiran,

  1. Starts automatically this J2EE instance after restart

  2. of the physical machine or restart of the SAP Service if the value is

  3. set to 1. If 0, the automatic start is disabled.

Autostart = 0

I hope this can help you.
