Hi

I don't know how, the user could

create a bookmark , but when adding the bookmark to the

favorites menu, we press the button, enter the name of the bookmark,

close BW, enter again, and the bookmark doesn't appear as favorite in

the menu.

Regards,

Anita

Is there any way to transport or regenerate a bokmark?

Hi Anita,

With your scenario, First Create role and your Book Mark assign it to favorites, then It will shows in Favorites , Check with you basis person regarding for Role Authorization.

Book Mark

Command that allows you to mark a Web application as a bookmark. The result of this instruction is to display a Web application with a bookmark-enabled URL. You can call this URL at any time, which results in a Web application that displays the same navigation status (including whether the hierarchy is expanded) as the Web application from which the instruction was called.

CMD BOOKMARK

Parameter Description

BOOKMARK_DATA Store historical data about the bookmark

(optional)

‘X’ = Yes, ‘ ’ = No The Web application with the historical data is displayed when you call the bookmark. Bookmarks are normally used without data.

For Example

<SAP_BW_URL CMD='BOOKMARK'>

Role

The Role Menu Web item displays user favorites and/or roles in a tree.

You can restrict the role menu to user favorites and roles or to a particular role. No menu entries are shown if the user is not assigned to this particular role. You can filter the menu entries according to various categories. A menu entry is a URL in a BEx Web application, for example. You can use the attribute TARGET to define in which window the URL is executed.

As well as its general attributes, the Role Menu Web item has the following attributes:

Attributes Description

Role name

(ROLE) Restriction to favorites and/or roles or to a particular role.

When ROLE is empty, the user favorites and roles are displayed. The favorites can be displayed with ROLE=SAP_BW_FAVORITES_ (with two _ between SAP_BW and FAVORITES_). Enter the technical name of the role when you want to restrict the display to a particular role.

Number of levels.

(LEVEL)

‘0’ = all levels Number of levels that are initially read.

The role menu is loaded initially with the specified levels. Further levels are read dynamically by expanding folders. All levels are read for LEVEL=0.

Filters

(FILTER) Filter menu entries according to type

You can filter according to the following types or type combinations.

• 'U' = URLs

• 'P ' = Web templates

• ‘Y’ = Queries

• 'R ' = Crystal Reports

All entries for these types are displayed when a filter is not specified.

For example, the filter ‘UP’ shows all URLs and Web templates with reference to ROLE.

Name of the target frame

(TARGET) Name of the frame for executing menu entries.

The URL is executed in the specified frame behind a menu entry.

Scrollbar presentation

(SCROLL_STYLE)

"Auto" = Automatic scrollbar presentation

"Yes" = Scrollbar always displayed

"No" = Scrollbars never displayed Scrollbar presentation

Scrollbars are displayed either dependently on the size of the contents (Auto) or independently of the size, either always (Yes) or never (No).

Display with IFrame

(IFRAME)

‘X’ = Yes, ‘ ’ = No Display as IFrame

You can display the Role Menu Web item in an Iframe (a frame imbedded in HTML) or in a Frameset. On the one hand, the combination from other Web items with the Role Menu Web item is possible for an IFrame. On the other hand, Netscape 4.7 and PDAs do not support IFrames. Only the Role Menu Web item is displayed for the Frameset. The other Web items are ignored.

The advantage of IFrames is that they allow you to structure the HTML page for the role menu freely, for example, with text, logos, or other Web items. The role menu in the frame set is created generically and cannot be changed externally.

If a role menu is called up with IFrame on Netscape 4.7 or on a PDA, the IFrame is ignored and a frameset is automatically sent to the Web browser.

Display with frames and IFrame

(IFRAME_STYLE)

‘X’ = Yes, ‘ ’ = No Displaying the frame around the IFrame

A frame border is displayed around the IFrame. The proposed value is ‘ ‘ = No.

User and logo display

(DISPLAY_USER)

‘X’ = Yes, ‘ ’ = No User and logo display

Above the role menu, the user name is displayed along with a logo.

Path of the logo icon

(ICON_LOGO) Path of the logo icon

The path of the icon in the MIME repository that is displayed as a logo. You can only use this attribute in the context of DISPLAY_USER. For example: ‘Bex/Icons/s_logo.gif’

Are you expecting the bookmarks to be added to the BW User favorites and access it from the BW role menu web item. This functionality is not supported in BW, you will have to build youir own application for doing the same. There are some function modules available which will add URLs to user favorites.

Thanks

Hi Anita,

What you would have to do is first create the book mark for this web report. You can do this from the context menu of the web report by choosing option BookMark. Notice the URL...towards the end you will get a BOOKMARK ID=dg23h54jb3k5k3k..something like this. Then to add this to your favourites in IE, use the Favourties > Add to Favourites and give it an appropriate name.

Hope this helps...
