Hi
What does mean exactly paging rate and high paging rate or high paging ??
I am well familiar with memory structure and allocation sequence, but no where I found definition of the same.
Please explain the same.
Warm Regards
Sachin.
Hi,
High paging rate means it is about the paging memory
see according to the standards of sap paging memory it should be 3 times the RAM size that is allocated to any one of the drive i.e(c,d,e..)which u allocate for sap if that exceeds the standards it shows the high paging rate,
u may have a doubt saying if u ve a ram size of 8 gb how do u allocate,if u allocate 24 gb for paging it occupies more space ,so here what u can do is u can allocate 8 gb,it will accept.

Thanks.
It means when u allocate more space at OS than the standard, is the cause for high paging. Is it correct??
above is the cause, but what does mean high paging ?? Or can say
If u allocate more how it affects on the performance??
In your example, if 8 gb is ram, then as standard, allocation should be 24gb, how 8gb?? If u allocate too small as reverse case of high paging, it may affect in other way.
Please focus the same.
Regards
Sachin.
Hi,
Check this..
use the tcode ST02 to check the buffer utilised by the SAP system.=
Check for the hit ration and swap memory column.
The hit ratio should be=
more than 98% and swap memory should not have been used, if used little bi=
t. If more swap memory is been used, check for the which Buffer the swap me=
mory is been used, double click it on the specified buffer, click on the cu=
rrent parameters for the buffer you choosed. This will display the paramete=
rs to be tuned for the specified buffer. Increase the value through RZ10 (P=
rofile Maintenance).
After increasing the size restart the server. OK
And also,
SAP Note : 723909 and 88416

My question is what does mean by high paging?? The reason for high paging is large value (than standard) set at OS.
What u are saying in st02 that are swaps for buffers. This is not swap memory.
These are no. of objects that are replaced in buffers and result with decrease in performance. swap/paging file(memory) is defined at OS level and corresponds to roll memory and paging memory in shared memory of instance.
I just want to know what is high paging rate ??
Regards
Sachin.
