Migrate from gentran to XI

We are planning on migrating our EDI transactions from gentran to SAP XI.

Please advise what will be the difficulties envisaged.

What is the procedure to generate ANSI X12 foramt documents out of XI. - Do I need any additional adapters or I can use any native adpater that comes out of XI.

Bhaskar,

You can either have a Seeburger adapters or the conversion agent installed on your XI box. If you have conversion agent you can have many advantages like converting Pdf documents into xml, xml documents to pdf, HIPPA format to xml etc. Check this help on Conversion agent:

Hi,

U can use IDOC , RFC ,FILE, JDBC(for database), JMS(for MQSeries) adapters.

It will be send X12 out of Xi..Use X12 struture in destination and u will get X12.
