Sol Man 4.0 installation - dispatcher stops

Hi All,

I have just installed oracle 10.2.0.2. Now I am installing Solution Manager 4.0. (OS is windows 2003) I have reached the stage where it tries to 'start the ABAP instance'. The issues is that the dispatcher stops and the sapinst throws error.

The dev_disp says :

Tue Jun 26 13:02:40 2007

      • WARNING => DpNetCheck: NiAddrToHost(1.0.0.0) took 5 seconds

***LOG GZZ=> 1 possible network problems detected - check tracefile and adjust the DNS settings [dpxxtool2.c 5275]

MtxInit: 30000 0 0

      • ERROR => DpSysAdmExtCreate: ShmCreate (CREATE) [dpxxtool2.c 607]

      • ERROR => dispatcher already running ???? [dpxxtool2.c 608]

      • ERROR => I better EXIT before I do any (more) damage [dpxxtool2.c 610]

I have enabled the /PAE /3GB option in boot.ini. Increased the paging file size to 54 GB. Restarted the system.

Increased profile parameters PHYS_MEMSIZE to 9216.

SAPOSCOL and all other services are running. R3trans -d is successful.

Database is OPEN.

Still when I try to start SAP from MMC the dispatcher stops.

Even updated the kernel (it shows two kernels, UC n Non-UC - updated both). Still No luck.

I do have another 'Java Only' system (live auction) installed on the same server.

Any Ideas ??

Cheers

Kunal.

Hey Buddy,

Looks to me like its looking for Host address and its unable to resolve hostname.

Kindly check once with your network port IP. Is this running on Domain or local host?

If local host assign a IP adddress ( static ) and check it should work.

Thanks & Regards

Vivek

Hi All.. Sorry for the delay in replying..

Well I was able to solve this by re-installing Sol Man wid a diff instance number.. as there was an instance number conflict between sol man n a trex service...

Thanks neways for your help..

Hi Kunal,

Better to Reset old values and restart the system and try to start SAP.

Before changing just send me Dev_w0 log file.
