Getting error on activating datasource in BW

Hi

im getting an error while trying to activate the datasource at BW.

The error is

<b>Field TOTAL_CLAIM_AMT_TRSH ( Position 211 😞 Field name is longer than 16 characters</b>

What can be the issue?

Hello Leon,

I was able to solve the issue as I reduced tthe description length of the field, which was throwing an error .

Hi ,

Execute the SAP_RSADMIN_MAINTAIN program.

Enter the value RSAR_LONG_FIELDNAME in the 'OBJECT' field.

As of Support Package 16 (3.0B) and 10 (3.10 Content), you can take the name of the transfer structure from the longtext of error message RSAR 492. Enter this in the 'VALUE' field.

For lower Support Packages, you can take the name of the transfer structure from the TRANSTRU field of the RSISOSMAP table with:

OLTPSOURCE = Name of the DataSource

LOGSYS = Name of the source system

Hi, Length of the field name is longer/more than the mapped infoobject it seems.check the corresponding infoobject.

We havent created any infoobject ,

we are just trying to replicate the datasource from R/3 system to BW.

It has already been replicated in BW.Now we have added one more field in the

extract structure .after that when we try to replicate ,its giving me the error.

Hi Leon,

You have to shorten the field name for the extractor in R/3 itself and then activate it .. and then replicate the datasource in BW ..

You can change the field name by going to the dtasosurce in RSA6 screen and then double clicking on the extract structure and change the field name !!

TOTAL_CLAIM_AMT_TRSH is 20 characters ..

You just need to shorten the name !!
