Data Source Question

Former Member

Good morning everyone,

We have a data source that gets the data from a table in BI Dev. This table exist in Dev, Q and Production. After I transport this data source to Q, it still has BI Dev as the Source system.

My question is how can the data source use Q as the source system after I transport it? Please explain in detail steps, thank you in advance!

hi Qingbo,

you need to maintain source system mapping

rsa1-tools-source system mapping or transaction RSLGMP in target system (BW Q)

set original source system = BI Dev e.g bwdclnt100

and target source system = BI Q

for r/3 may also needed

set original source system = r/3 Dev

and target source system = r/3 Q

hope this helps.

Is it true that after I set up the original source system and target system in Q and Production, any transport which use Dev as the Source system will automaticall converted to Q or Production Source system?

Yes, it will be converted automatically. You won't get any Transport Failures for Source System dependant Objects.

you need to map source systems(logical System Name).... in rsa1 --> settings --> assign Logical Systems(if not you could see similar navigation in RSA1).

You need to give source and target Logical system names.

While transporting, you can convert / switch the source system from Dev to Q and P.

Go to your object in transport connection - edit - convert source system assignment.
