Hi Folks,

1.Will it ask for a transport request when a object is deleted from

the Development.

2.If it asks, then whether this transport request when transported to

quality and production will it delete the same object from Quality and

production too?

3.What is the best way to delete an object having an transport request.

4.Anyother way to make an object null and void.

Thanks,

K.Kiran.

1. If the old request is release,

then we cannot do anything.

(There is no point in changing that old request)

(bcos its already released)

2. what can be done is that

u save once again the objects,

and it will once again ask for new request.

3. this time save it in new request

Hi ,

1. Yes

2. No

3. Delete the object with the same request and then go to SE09 and then delete the object from the request and then finally delete the request ( if there are no other objects ).

Santhosh,

"3. Delete the object with the same request and then go to SE09 and then delete the object from the request and then finally delete the request ( if there are no other objects )."

What do you mean by Delete the object with the same request?

What do you mean by Delete the object from SE09.

Few doubts:-

1.Fine,it will ask for a transport request when deleting the object. Will this request can't be transported? If not then what is the point in creating a request.

2.Suppose we have deleted the object from Dev,what about the same object which is lying in Quality and Production.Do we have to do the same even n Quality and Production too?

Thanks a ton.

Hi Kiran,

The only recommended way is delete a object -> it will ask for new TR -> transport this.

All systems then will be in sync.

Hi,

1.Will it ask for a transport request when a object is deleted from

the Development.

YES this is needed so that the objects are deleted from all the systems in the ladnscape. so that when you release thisrequest the objects gets deleted from the target system

2.If it asks, then whether this transport request when transported to

quality and production will it delete the same object from Quality and

production too?

YES

3.What is the best way to delete an object having an transport request.

If the object exist in your quality and production the best way is to use the transport request, if that does not exist you can ask your basis guy to delete it.

4.Anyother way to make an object null and void.

Ask the basis guy to delete it but to keep track its always better to delete it using the Transport reuqest.

- If the object was earlier created and transported using TR, then after deletion also it ask for TR

2.If it asks, then whether this transport request when transported to

quality and production will it delete the same object from Quality and

production too?

Hi Kiran,

Once you delete object from transport request it wont affected in quality or producation as transport request indicate it as deleted object at the time of transporting that object. So need not to worry about on that.

Another way is to release that transport reqeust from Development and do not transport it to Quality or Producation server. This will anyway solve your purpose.

So in both cases that object wont goes into Quality or Production.
