HI TO EVERYBODY!

CURRENTLY I AM WORKING ON DEVLOPMENT SERVER . WHEN I USE TRANACTION PA40 FOR ACTIONS ERROR IS COMING LIKE NO. RANGE 06 IS EXTERNAL , ENTER APERSONAL NO . CAN ANYBODY SOLVE THIS PROBLEM . I M NEW TO HR . CAN ANYBODY TELL ME THE PATH FOR RANGE CHANGE .

probably in customization, the series start with 06 have been assgined as External range..

Need to look this at SPRO.. Personal Mangement-> Personal Admin..>Maintain number rangess

Just ask your functional consultant to create test data for you.

For Number range see the tcodes SNRO and SNUM

Since you are entering a number which is related to External no range it is throwing that error

enter some other number which is correct

Got to SE16

enter PA0001

enter

execute you will find so many PERNR numbers

take one and enter in PA40 and see

Hi,

The Number range 01 ie 00000001 to 90000000 is for Internal. If you want to propose a Perosneel number you have to use the Number Range 02 ie a number from 90000001 to 99999999.

While hiring an employee if you want the personnel number to be given by you then go to PA04 maintain number range and mark as external.

Go to NUMKR feature and assign your Intervel No: to your employee sub group & save it.

Then go to PA40 and enter the Number and maintain the rest of the Infotypes.
