Existing 2LIS_13_VDITM to feed new ODS

Former Member

Hello Friends,

I want 2LIS_13_VDITM to feed new ODS along with already existing ones. It was initialised in Jan 2005 and is live since then feeding the existing ODS.

If I want the new ODS to have all the records, can I do it without deleting the existing initialisation pointer? How are these scenarios handeled in production?

Thanks

Simmi

I just initialized with no data transfer from the extractor. and change it to delta later on. so I hope I won't miss changes on any records done a year ago.

Why Do ihave re-initialise when I have the old data from the existing ODS.

No need to initialize since you have already taken care of initializing from extractor to the new ods, you just need to pull delta.

thanks.

Your steps are right.

But you need to reinitialise delta.

We want to eventually get rid of the old ODS. So you suggestion is

1. load old data from existing ODS to new ODS

2.initialize with no data transfer from extractor to new ODS

3. Change the setting to delta next

4.delete the old ods

5.change the process chain to reflect the new infopackage

And any delta later on can be loaded as usual to new ODS.

Thanks

Connect the old ODs and the ODS by means of update rules. Whenever you load data to the old ODS, make sure you modify the process chain to ensure that the new ODS also gets loaded.
