does anyone know what the difference between using task sendmail in step 'Activity' and step 'SendMail'. what's the result between them?
The difference is in presentation to you in the workflow builder. I would say it is mostly a choice between simplicity (SendMail step type) and having full control (task using SELFITEM.SendTaskDescription). You can e.g. use the SendMail step type first - during initial development just to get it working, and then delete that step and reuse the task that was created in an ordinary activity step to have full control of all the parameters.

Hi Oscar,
One of the advantages I'm using Activity instead of SendMail step is to be able to use standard texts instead of hardcode within the task.

Hi,
Well for one, it shows up differently in the workflow log and builder.
And secondly it has different tabs in the step details, some of which are needed for the task.
I would suggest you try this out yourself in the workflow builder and see the differences.
Kind regards, Rob Dielemans
