Hi all,

If the development or PRD server shut down suddenly, as a basis guy how do you solve the problem? Can anyone describe me the steps and things to look up?

Kittu,

There is no generic answer to your question . You have to findout why the system went down and resolve it asap and start the server for users. As a basis guy thats your job

Hi jose,

I am new to BASIS what are the steps you follow to find out the error, do you know any sequence of operation we have to do to make system up? Like which logs i have to check, could you briefly explain me about the issue

you can check workprocess, dispatcher logs .. If its something related to Db ( oracle ) check database logs .. you might get some clue from here and act accordingly . Tou can also check startsap logs ( if you try to start SAP and its failing ) .. There isnt any sequence it all deppends upon the cause of the failure , if its something with db you have to fix that first or with memory then you have to fix that by adding more memory or by editing the memory parameters ( just egs )

Thanks

Hello.

My problem is I have a bunch of IDOCS stored in xml files (1 for each IDOC). My BLS job is a string of multiple BLSs. The BLS that creates the IDOCS completes. Then I have to read each xml file and store production order and plant into an Oracle table. For some reason, when I do this in the background via scheduler, the entire production xMII server goes down. I try to go to the logon page and the screen says THIS PAGE CANNOT BE DISPLAYED.

So far the tech team just bounces the server and I can log on again. But this is not efficient.

Are there any suggestions? I am an applications developer that write BAPIS and BLS for the project.

Thank you.
