Embed fonts in Adobe LiveCycle 7.1

Former Member

Hi,

We need to embed a font in our Adobe Document Services for invoice

printing, but can't seem to figure out where to do this in Adobe

LiveCycle 7.1.

We're unable to find any detailed documentation on how to set the

embedding option, but we've found some documents that tells us to

adjust the settings in the file XFA.XCI and/or the J2EE Visual Admin

where the ADS is installed.

Please advice on how to solve this issue or guide us to some

documentation about the issue.

Thanks.

Best regards,

Lars-Erik

I was dealing with the same issue and found this thread and I guess many others will too so I wanted to share the solution.

First, if you have not done that already, install the fonts as described [here|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/d0/cdf29623c8432fa1545df5f43176de/content.htm]

And then to have the fonts embedded in the PDF output find the XFA.XCI file in your Adobe LifeCycle installation directory on the server. This is an XML file that contains the default settings for font mappings.

In that file between the tags <PDF> </PDF> you need to change <embed>0</embed> to <embed>1</embed>

Gunnar

Hi Lars,

We are also facing the same issue.

Korean and chinese customers are not able to open the PDF's. They have not installed the font package .

Is there any way that they can open the PDF, without installing fonr package.

could you please tell us how you have solved the problem/

Thanks and Regards,

Karthik Ganti.
