Hi Kattamahesh,

Spool request is used to find out the print function is carried out successfull or not.If you go to transaction SPAD it would tell you all about the ouptut devices(printers),spool servers, access methods and destination host.

Regarding Background jobs - They are used to automate a particular program which should either fetch certain data from an external system or it could take out certain data to an external system based on the functionality. For eg : If you want to take out all the sales data from SAP R/3 to SAP BW system on a daily basis you can define a batch job using a relevant ABAP program to take care of this activity. This job can be automated to run every 15mins,every hour,or once in a day or even once in a week.

Transactions used : SM36 - to create a new job/SM37 - to check out the existing jobs in the system.

Hope this info has been useful.

Rgds,

Aram K.

Hi,

-A spool request is a document for which a print function has been selected.

-SAP background processing automates routine tasks and helps you optimize your organization’s SAP computing resources. Using background processing, you tell the SAP System to run programs for you. Background processing lets you move long-running or resource-intensive program runs to times when the system load is low. It also lets you delegate to the system the task of running reports or programs. Your dialog sessions are not tied up, and reports that run in the background are not subject to the dialog-step run-time limit that applies to interactive sessions.
