serial numbers number rages in SPRO

Hi,

I am unable to find the serial number number ranges defined in the system. where are this number ranges defined in spro.

please specify me the navigation path.I also require of assigning external number ranges to the serial numbers. where can this be asiggned.

hi

you cannot assign serial number number ranges it is automatically picked up by the system,if you want to use external number range kindly specify while creating serial number or specify serial number while doing any business transaction.

I dont think you can maintain any External number ranges for serial numbers,You can have serial number profile where you define the serializing procedure in Tcode OIS2

In TCode OIS1

Here the nuber range is assigned but again for the equipment file, as a basic equipment master record is created in the background for each serial number.

The numbers assigned via this setting are irrelevant for actual serial number management, since you work with serial numbers or material numbers in the application transactions
