Hello Experts.

I am trying to break into MDM job market. I am a SAP BI and XI Consultant.

1.I was wondering what type of questions do they ask on the interview?

2.How is job Market in MDM?

3.How much experience do you need?

4.What are the usual project scenarios on the job (Legacy systems or ERP)?

5.How long are usually the projects?

6.Is ABAP or JAVA a prerequisite for the job?

7.What are the rates for permanent position?

8.How many people are usually on the project, and what are the roles?

I have seen the job postings for MDM and usually they are not very descriptive. Is that because they have no knowledge of what they need?

Hi Igor,

1, How important to know Print Publishing?

It would be great if you know about the print publishing because there is a business scenarion in MDM as RPCM stand for Rich Product Content Management.it is related to publish the Product Catalog on the Web.in this print pulisher will be used. and I think, this is very imp scenarion as per MDM concern.

lets hope for more comments on this from the MDM experts.

Hi Igor,

As you already know about XI, it would be a great help to you because most of the business scenarios of MDM, XI will use.

As of my best knowledge....

they can ask for the basic functionality of MDM related to MDM Console, Import Manager, data manager, Syndicator etc....

they can ask for various business scenario which you have done like...

MDM-BIW integration, SRM-MDM Catalog, MDM-XI-R3 integration, RPCM,

enrichment adaptor etc....

4.What are the usual project scenarios on the job (Legacy systems or ERP)?

It depends on the client requirement but you shold know about the R3-MDM integration.most of the requirement it would be use.

related scenarios as I mentioned are MDM-BIW integration, SRM-MDM Catalog, MDM-XI-R3 integration, RPCM,enrichment adaptor etc....

5.How long are usually the projects?

It depends on the client requirement.

6.Is ABAP or JAVA a prerequisite for the job?

It would be great help for you if you know these.

because MDM is having MDM ABAP API's as well as MDM JAVA API's.
