Hi,

Line Item:

In any Sales Order or Purchase Order we may order for different products in the same Purchase Order or Sales Order. In the Sales / Purchase Order all the items ordered are listed one after the other.

Each item and its details is called the line item of the Sales / Purchase Order.

In simple terminology, If you create a sale order for some 10 items each and every item is called line items.

Line item is nothing but like an serial no of each item. or the number that uniquely identifies the item in the sales document.

Ex: if ur order is for 3 items,then line items should be...

In SAD SD, the line is nothing but details of the particular material with data like sales, shipping, billing data, billing plan, contract data, partners, account assignment, order data, status, text etc

Line items generally in SAP means the components of a document.

Say for example a sales order has line items.... in this case it constitutes the materials that has been ordered by the customer. each line item will have the material ordered along with the quantity ordered and various other details.

In a FI document (accounting document), it refers to a credit / debit transaction against a particular GL account.

Line item that provides a detailed audit trail of the development of the amounts displayed in an asset.

A line item is created for each transaction for each depreciation area where posting takes place. The line item contains the:

Transaction type

Asset value date

Amount posted

Depreciation and interest from the transaction

Proportional accumulated depreciation, if applicable
