SRM-MDM Issue

Former Member

I am new to SRM-MDM and I am facing the following issues. Anybody can help me?. Full points rewarded

Issue 1.

When I try to connect to the server by using the UI configuration URL http://<J2EEserver:J2EEport>/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com

/tc~mdmsrmui/MDM_SRM_UI_App, after providing the IP address I am getting the message ‘Connection to the server failed’. I am calling this as stand alone.

Issue 2.

Another issue is while shopping cart creation, when I click on the MDM catalog I configured earlier, I am getting the MDM_SRM_UI_Application screen and the URL is http://<J2EEserver:J2EEport>/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/tc~mdmsrmui/MDM_SRM_UI_App and it is asking the Login info such as user name, password, transport configuration etc. What user name and password I have to provide here.

One way we got around the issue was we undeployed Java API and deployed the latest 5.2 and could login by specifying the server name and no password. Then you get the selection available where you need to specify a user who has proper roles assigned in MDM.

thanks.

Thanks to all for the valuable contributions. We tried all the possible way’s and java API’s are the correct version but didn’t work.

We are using SRM-MDM Catalog 2.0 (SRMMDMCAT20SP02P07) and MDM server 5.5 SP5 – 5.5.42.110.

Murali Godavari:

Since you resolved the problem can you explain in detail and what exactly mean by ‘*deployed the latest 5.2 API’* so that I can communicate to the Basis team and try to mimic and see whether it is working.

Thanks to all. I shared the points to everybody.

Porblem is resolved:

Undeployed the scar files and deployed the correct version of the files again and restarted the J2EE server.

For UI config use the the standard user called Master without password.

Hello JP,

The link which you have mentioned for the search UI, I guess, you are implementing the catalog 1.0 version.

Issue 1.

I am getting the message ‘Connection to the server failed’.

For this, first check whether your MDM server is running or not.

If it is running then you have not deployed the correct JAVAAPI and Search UI scar files as per your MDM Server version. Please refer the SAP note -1082069 for the version mapping of SRM-MDM Catalog and MDM Server version.

just undeploy the file and deploy it again with the correct version.

Issue 2.

http://<J2EEserver:J2EEport>/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/tc~mdmsrmui/MDM_SRM_UI_App

as per the link which you have mentioned, for this you have to give the user name which is having the role of UI configuration Manager defined in repository in console and the password if any.

By default, in the repository, user as Master with role of UI configuration Manager, you can use the same with blank password.

But please make sure that have you defined the external web service in SRM System for accessing the Catalog through EBP.Because when you click on catalog link, the catalog screen should apprear insteed of search UI screen.for defining web service, you can refer the config guide of SRM-MDM Catalog 1.0

Hope this will help you.

Hi,

-->The username and password provided should be of the user with role UI configuration manager (by default its Master) assigned to it.The same username and password to be configuredon SRM side also in IMG settings.

Reward points if helpful
