Hi,

You can have negative stock in SAP, in IM if it is allowed. In this case you may have negative stock in WM because IM and WM stock levels should be in harmony.

Even if negative stock is not allowed in IM you can have negative stock in WM, in interim storage bins (e.g. 910, 999, etc). In this case you can see a lock in those rows in LT10.

Hi Csaba,

How can we know if negative stocks are allowed in IM or WM? doeas it have something to do with the config?

How can we eliminate or delete the negative stocks from LT10?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Mylene,

second question:

LT10 is to move whole (complete) SU in WM - this is not a stock report. If you have negative stocks you can see them in the regular stock reports (LX02, LS24, etc) as well.

How to eliminate negative stocks? It depends on how they came into existence.

If the negative stock exists in interim storage type you can process posting change notices from LU04 (e.g. posting change will be created if you post stock from one stock type to other), you can process TR from LB10 (e.g. in case of scrapping) to eliminate them. You can also eliminate the negative stock 'manually', moving the stock of right qty&batch&etc from the normal bins to the interim storage type.

Generally you should have regular process how to handle the above mentioned processes. The negative stock exists because you may have unprocessed TR, posting change, etc > you have to check the root cause and make harmony between IM and WM (you may have to check movements in IM in MB51 and maybe the material movements will throw light on due to which process you have minus stock).

Please check the material number, quantity, batch, etc of the material that is in the interim storage type with negative qty, and check where can you find the same quant(s) of + qty in the the 'normal' bins. Check the physical situation as well, check the material movements (in MB51 !!!, mentioned before), check the unprocessed posting changes, TRs, and hopefully you will find the solution.

If you have a concrete / specific problem feel free to post it.

hi

If a material shipment is going to a customer, but the production has not yet confirmed (and there is not enough stock on hand to satisfy the requirement), instead of getting the "deficit of stock..." message when doing the issue for the delivery, the system will allow you to issue the material, and your inventory will show a negative quantity until the production confirmation is performed.

reward points if helpful
