PS and MM ....?

Hi gurus

Can anybody explain me what is difeerence betweem PS and MM..? clearly.

In PS also some MM activity has to happen, how we can map in SAP.

PS-- Mile stones are defined in PS, and it will not have any std Org Structure, you can define your own Org Structure basing on your requirement.

from PS you can create MMD & also the PR.

In MM we use WBS or Network as account assignment for Procurement as well as for Goods issue.

See i wil tel u my client scenario .

My client doing new projects, for that projects they will do procurement and contracts only for projects eg,civil construction.

whether i want to do any configuration for MM in Project related works or PS wil take care about this..?

Can u explain me who wil do the customisatyion part of PS and MM in new projects..?

At present I am doing the same for my client here.

there is nothing to be done from MM , the PS guys will take care of it in PS itself..

You have to use the Account assignment in PR & PO

Basing on the settings maintained in PS and everything will be defined in PS Blue Print.

Related to the PS Project systems Consultant has to take care of the Customizing activity.

From MM perspective to integarte with PS there is very little Customizing required. But for proper reporting you can create

Projects relevant purchasing organization & purchase groups for Project procurement, new PR, PO document types to identify the PS procurements.

In PS the major customizing activites are

Project coding mask for WBS elements,

Project Profile, Network Profile, Budget profiles, Activity Profiles,

Scheduling activities,

Value Categories, Planned Costs, Budgeting ,

Progress tracking, Procurement activities,

One more thing Mr.mano , In MM blue print anything i want mention which are related to PS activity eg, purchasing Contracts and inventory also happening for projects .

Can u give some inputs..

We will not mention anything in MM Blue print for PS point of view.

we will mention all the Account Assignment information including the N & P of PS

for Contracts , PR & PO contents.

and also if you are using any specific doc types for PS then mention it..
