Windows Server 2003 crashed! How can we recover/backup our Database file?

Former Member

Ok we had this problem on our office and we really need some help very badly... We have this SAP

Development Server 4.6c which was installed on Windows Server 2003 via IBM Netfinity (raid). Our

Windows Server 2003 has been corrupted and sometimes goes out in blue screen on display (BSOD).

Our main concern now is:

1. How can we backup/recover our files since we don't have a backup?

2. Where does the database of SAP were located?

3. If we'll gonna re-install the Windows Server 2003 via repair option, will it affect the database on our SAP

Dev?

Thanks

If you don't have a backup, then you can't recover, right?

We don't know your database (Oracle? DB2? SQL-Server? MaxDB?) and we don't have the magic ball to see your setup before the machine crashed...

Nobody will be able to tell without more information.

What's the text of the BSOD (the first lines)?

I can't believe that people can use a SAP system without proper backups !

As Markus said, no backup, no recover.

The only chance for Angela is that the database files would not be corrupted and that it will be possible to repair the OS.

The only data that we have is the database which was stored on the hardrive. That is the thing that I am asking on how can we backup it

We're using SQL-Server

the database files would not be corrupted and that it will be possible to repair the OS

Could anyone please confirm this?

Thanks
