We are a new BPC customer and recently had 5.1 installed with SQL Server 2005. After the install was complete, we noticed that Apshell and the app sets we created from it are at compatibility level 80, SQL 2000. We'd like the databases to be SQL 2005. Can we just change the compatibility level to 90?
NO! The database must run in compatablity mode. If you change the application will stop working.

I would like to add my two cents. MS SQL engine was changed in SQL2005 so some SQL statement in BPC 5.X doesn't work with SQL2005 with compatibility mode 90.
That's why we must use mode 80. I know it is a pain because we can't use table partitioning that could improve query performance with a large fact table.
As I heard, developers fixed it for BPC7 so we can use compatibilty mode 90 with BPC 7M soon.
I hope it will help.

Thanks for the quick reply! That definitely answers my question!
