Hi,
Inbound delivery is with respect to the MM module i.e. when the goods are coming inside the plant. In this the stcok is updated. If you are going to the MMBE transaction code after the inbound delivery, your stock will be updated. for eg if we are procuring the goods from the vendor the stock is being added to our stock this type of delivery which is coming inside is called Inbound delivery.
The outbound delivery is with respect to the SD module. In this delivery the goods going outside are considered i.e. the stock is getting decreased. By going to the MMBE transaction code after this delivery the stock will be decreased. eg if we are selling the goods to the customer, then the delivery being given to the customer is regarded as the outbound delivery. In this case the delivery is said to be the Outbound delivery.
Pls give reward points if the answer is helpful.
Regard
Gaurav.

hi venkat
Whenever we recieve goods into our storage location they are termed as inbound delivery.
Inbound delivery does not necessarily mean goods receipt. INBOUND DELIVERY in SAP pertains to all incoming goods, which may refer to either a vendor delivery or a return of a rejected delivery to a customer. It may cover the schedules of deliveries from your vendors/suppliers or even a rejected delivery to a customer.
The GOODS RECEIPT portion pertains to the time that you are in the process of receiving the goods (either as a delivery or as a return item). Hence, movement type would vary.
whenever the goods flow out from our storage location to customers it is termed as out bound delivery.
reward if helpful

Hi
Inbound Delivery is movement of goods into the plant (with PGR - the valuation of stock increases). In SD area, we do it for sales Returns.
Outbound Delivery is the movement of stocks out of the plant (with PGI the valuation of stocks comes down and the ownership of the material).
Thanks,
Ravi

Hi,
Inbound delivery is related to the MM module. they do the inbound delivery to receive the goods in the warehouse/plant etc.
Outbound delivery is related with SD module. we do the outbound delivery to deliver the goods to the customer. The process of outbound delivery starts with VL01N and Completes with VL02N(Post goods issue).
Cheers,
Anil.
