Bad performance when reading from DataSource 0CO_OM_OPA_6: Production Issue

Hi Experts

We have a daily load problem in our production environment.

Problem

When reading data from R/3 through DataSource 0CO_OM_OPA our load often fails. If we finally make it go throug if usually takes around 12 hours.

When I look on the request in R/3 I see that a specific step takes very long time to execute:

03.06.2008 20:02:08 2 LUWs confirmed and 2 LUWs to be deleted with FB RSC2_QOUT_CONFIRM_DATA

04.06.2008 08:03:05 Call up of customer enhancement BW_BTE_CALL_BW204010_E (BTE) with 147,085 records

04.06.2008 08:03:05 Result of customer enhancement: 147,085 records.

System Landscape

We are running 2004s on the BW side and R/3 Release 4.6C (Oracle 10.2.0.2.0).

What we have tried

We have tried to reindex the table on the R/3 side behind the DataSource. It helped a bit but for sure not enough. I have as well asked to the BASIS team to look at option of creating new indexes on the tables (since I see that there are no indexes on several of the fields used in the where and join part of the SQL that is genereted when loading) - they have not responded yet.

Hope you can provide some inputs in order to improve the load performance for this load.
