XI 3.0 Installation J2EE Engine Configuration Issue

Former Member

Hi All-

Anyone install and configure XI 3.0 yet? faced the issue below.

1. Installed WAS 6.40 ABAP

2. Per XI 3.0 Documentation, created client-300 from 000

3. Completed J2EE Add-in for ABAP system. Put client-300 as the system during input.

4. Started the go.bat (J2EE visual administrator). It just hangs.

Anyone see something similar. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks

Venkata

Venkat,

I am curious to know how you fixed this problem ?

Also try config tool (offline infrasturcture settings) from c:\usr\yourdb\j2ee\configtool - run configtool.bat. Increase heap size of your dispatcher and server to more than 512mb, this could fix your problem too, apart from what others have said.

Thanks

Hi,

I am not sure if you have received replies for this. You need to create a user called J2EE_ADMIN and use the password that you have given during installation (default user won't work). If you haven't done this, try this, it will solve the issue. Before doing so, check everything is up and running in MMC.

Venkata,

I had the same issue in XI 2.0 at my client site. We did a reinstall of J2EE and everything worked fine from then on. The culprit in our case was SP11 for J2EE. After the reinstall, we instead applied SP12 & all the services worked fine.

Hope this helps.

Hi -

Thank you so much! This is with J2EE Engine 6.30 and there are no support packs yet. We recieved the Rampup Kit as this goes with WAS 6.40.

I was going to open an OSS note if the documentation is correct!

As soon as I configure the J2EE engine master client. I have to stop and start. At this point in time it starts but gives an error message that there is "no service".
