license key issue for Portal

Former Member

after starting the Portal server, I get the jcontrol.exe failing with " failing to read license key". I have installed a permanent license key from SAP; however the license key was applied only the NetWeaver_MSS component, not to the J2EE_MSS component.

- do I need to get a license key for J2EE_MSS component from SAP?

- do I need to apply the NetWeaver_MSS license key to the J2EE_MSS component?

please help.

T.

thanks for replying. as per note 94998: " As of SAP NetWeaver 2004 Support Release 1 Support Package stack 09, you no longer require a separate license key for the Enterprise Portal. You must select the correct license type (standard for your ABAP installation and J2EE Engine for your Java installation). "

For portal system, licenses of type J2EE_Standard and J2EE_Portal are required.
