Hi,
What is cutover phase? What responsibilities a MM guy has in cutover phase? A detailed explaination will be highly useful.
Thanks,
Kumar
HI,
Cutover comes in the final prearation phase.
In this phase, you complete testing, end user training, system
management and cutover activities to finalize your readiness to go live. Furthermore, the Final
Preparation phase serves to resolve all critical open issues. Upon successful completion of this phase,
you will be ready to run your business in your live R/3 System.
Cut Over Plan - The details of how to move to the production environment and go live.
1. Production support & cutover plan
2. End user training plan
3. Test plan(s)
4. Conversion check list
5. Data transfer list
6. Interface check list
7. System administration
8. End user documentation
9. Approve the Production System
10. Secure Production Environment
11. Verify Users are Ready
Thanks & Regards,
Kiran

Hi
Cut over phase is the phase in the project just before the go-live. Say for example if you are implementing SAP and a date will be fixed to go-live on SAP. Business will decide on the transactions that need to be maintained say from some back date. All the activities need to be recorded so that they can be uploaded before the go-live I mean before handing over the system for the daily use. that is one kind of a cutover activity.
If you take a scenario of upgrade then there could be several cut over activities that need to be done after the system is upgraded.
So it is more driven on type of the project and other details,
From MM point of view you will be responsible to all the cut over activities that are planned for the go-live
Please let me know if you have a specific scenario and need any more information.
Thanks
